(June 30, 2022)
The participants discussed the main problems of peer review occurring due to the constant increase in the number of submissions to academic journals. All speakers noted the growing complexity and diversity of the peer review process. To improve the selection of articles, additional review steps are required: moderation (checking the article’s compliance with formal criteria), review by editors (members of the editorial board with an expertise in the field), additional review by a translator and final assessment by the editor-in-chief. It was proposed to create a single database of reviewers and an information field for all editorial process participants, including reviewers, as well as offer detailed instructions and good-quality description of the review process on the journal's website.
